First PNG Blog Post

At the beginning of the PNG year we had our annual PNG Picnic. At the picnic, Secretary of State Jesse White gave a speech to us concerning drugs and gangs in our youth. We also watched the tumblers do a presentation.
September was a busy month for PNG. First we were invited to present an exhibition on Mexico at the Multi-Cultural Festival at Lincoln Land Community College. We also were given a tour of the campus. Then we participated in the Beardstown Fall Fun Festival parade, giving out pencils to the kids who were watching.
Out first field trip was to visit the home and caves of Mark Twain. We saw the famous cave in the Tom Sawyer book, took a tour inside, then we went to his home and other house that were important during his time. To finish the visit, we went to the Mark Twain Museum.
Now we are working on making a digital scrapbook using the Picasa software, a picture-editing program for photos. We are learning the use of the scanner and by using the Picasa software, we are able to do editing and effects to the pictures for our scrapbook. Also, we have started out PNG blog that will be added as a link in our library website soon.
We have learned a lot of great things, visited historical sites, learn about technology, and had fun doing thiswith our friends. We also get a meal at every session!
